Summary

The Production Artist works with the Creative Director and Art Directors on the execution of direct mail packages. Critical to the success of this role is a strong understanding of design programs and attention to detail to ensure the effective marriage of design and copy.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Initiates and completes the required day-to-day responsibilities necessary to efficiently support Creates layouts and executes updates of client design projects and delivers print-ready art to production team. Delivery of final includes preflight project and assurance that all artwork specs have been met.
  • Works closely with Creative Director, Art Directors, and other creative teammates.
  • Attends internal project development and workflow tracking meetings.
  • Helps create presentation-ready artwork, including mock-ups, boards, and spreads.
  • Performs additional team and client support as needed.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Adobe CC (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat) and Microsoft Office in an OSX environment is a must.
  • Qualified candidates must provide access to a well-maintained creative portfolio.
  • Knowledge of direct mail and print production processes. Understanding of digital a plus, but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently on multiple deadline-driven projects simultaneously and collaborate with multiple, diverse internal and external client teams; a great listener who follows directions well with little to no guidance.
  • Must be a resourceful self-starter who takes initiative and follows through, adapting to change and prioritizing constantly shifting schedules and priorities, while maintaining high standards of creative integrity.
  • Other key competencies include strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to quality.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or additional work experience to satisfy the education requirement).

Experience:

  • Two to three years of experience in a creative department required.
