Google Ad Grant Changes on the Horizon

Changes are coming to the Google Ad Grants program, but in their infamous fashion, Google is being vague on the details. The company originally mentioned that all Google Ad Grant manager email addresses would receive an announcement on Friday, October 20th with details on the changes scheduled to roll out in early 2018. However, Google is now stating that they are continuing to finalize details on the changes and a public statement will be made in the “near future.” There is no telling what these changes may be, and in an effort not to stir rumors we won’t speculate.

What can you do in the mean time?

  1. Ensure your Google Ad Grant is fully optimized and complies with all grant policies. Google assesses the overall quality of your grant management based on the strength of three metrics: Click-through Rate, Quality Score, and Conversion Rate.
  2. Pause low performing keywords and add negative keywords to improve your click-through rate.
  3. Review your keyword list, ads and landing pages to identify any changes that will support a stronger quality score.
  4. Set-up multiple conversion types to ensure a strong conversion rate.
