Digital Advertising Strategist

Description:

The Digital Advertising Strategist will oversee digital advertising campaign strategy and execution across multiple nonprofit clients to acquire, cultivate and solicit online constituents.  The ideal candidate must be a natural leader and strategic thinker who is able to work in fast-paced, creative environment with ever-shifting schedules and priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides strategic thought-leadership on all online advertising and digital acquisition efforts, including testing and recommendations for performance improvement.
  • Manages and optimizes search, display, native, and social advertising for assigned clients with oversight from senior team members.
  • Creates and routes all advertising campaign assets including search and display advertising creative, and ad copy as needed for assigned clients with oversight from senior team members.
  • Plans and implements advertising campaigns, including search advertising, online ad placements, ad creation and copy development for assigned clients.
  • Compiles advertising reports and presents them to assigned clients with oversight from senior team members.
  • Researches new advertising and marketing venues; stays abreast of online marketing trends; develops and maintains relationships with acquisition vendors and partners.
  • Completes quality assurance of soon to be launching digital advertising campaigns.
  • Serves as assigned client-facing advertising team lead for one or multiple nonprofit clients.
  • Creates audits of client social media, digital advertising and web presence for SEO and CRO.
  • Completes Google for Nonprofits applications including but not limited to acquiring and setting up Google Ad Grants for nonprofits. 
  • Maintains and reports on emerging advertising trends.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of and experience with online marketing for a nonprofit is ideal, including any or all the following: ad campaigns, search engine marketing and other acquisition channels; social networking, and mobile marketing.
  • Experience with digital media buying for a nonprofit or commercial organization, including any or all the following platforms: Google AdWords, Bing Ads, DoubleClick Bid Manager, Yahoo, Google Ad Grants, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.
  • Familiarity with digital direct response marketing strategy and tactics, and how to measure the impact of various channels and campaigns.
  • Certification in Google AdWords Search, Display required, Video and Shopping a plus.
  • Experience with Google Analytics required, certification a plus.
  • Experience with online creative development, solid instincts for what makes compelling copy that will elicit an action ideal.
  • Ability to handle multiple complex projects; a resourceful self-starter who can take initiative and follow through on projects.
  • Ability to adapt to frequent change and prioritize constantly shifting opportunities.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Degree in Marketing or Communications especially useful, but not required.

Experience:

  • Two years of digital marketing experience. Nonprofit and/or fundraising experience a plus. 
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics and/or Google AdWords.
  • Experience with e-CRM platforms such as Blackbaud Convio/Luminate Online, Salsa, Classy, Engaging Networks highly desired. Knowledge of CMS and web editing software a plus.
